We were founded by Eko Flow d.o.o. from Ljubljana with a mission to make menstruation more comfortable, safer, and more sustainable. All our products are PFAS-free, made from skin-friendly materials, and independently lab-tested for harmful substances.

Floena is a brand of Eko Flow d.o.o., a company based in the EU. We develop our products in the EU and work with verified manufacturing partners who meet our strict material safety standards. Every production batch is checked for harmful substances, PFAS, and health-hazardous chemicals before it reaches you.

Yes. Our textile products are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified – every component has been tested for more than 100 harmful substances and is free from them. Our menstrual cups and discs are made from 100% medical-grade silicone and comply with EU safety requirements for medical devices. All textile products are completely PFAS-free.

Yes, significantly. A person spends on average over €3,000 on disposable products over their lifetime. A pair of Floena period underwear costs €30–40 once and lasts up to 2 years; a menstrual cup lasts up to 5 years. The product pays for itself within months – and you save considerably in the long run.

Period underwear has multiple layers in the gusset area: a soft top layer that quickly wicks moisture away from the skin, an absorbent core that holds menstrual flow, and a leak-proof outer layer that prevents leakage. You wear it just like regular underwear – no pads or tampons needed. After use, simply rinse in cold water and wash.

Absorbency varies by model. Most Floena period underwear absorbs the equivalent of 2–4 regular tampons. Our High-Waist Brief and Bamboo Sleep Short offer the highest capacity for heavy days or overnight. The exact capacity is listed on each product page.

For light to moderate flow you can wear it alone without any issues. On very heavy days some prefer combining it with a menstrual cup or tampon, using the underwear as an extra backup layer. With time and experience you’ll quickly develop a feel for what works best for you.

Up to 12 hours, depending on your flow. We recommend changing every 8–12 hours – sooner on heavy days. Overnight it’s ideal since it sits comfortably and is leak-proof without needing to wake up and change.

No – with proper use and care, period underwear does not smell. The fabric is designed to quickly absorb moisture and inhibit odors. Importantly: rinse in cold water immediately after removing – warm water can lock in odors.

For everyday activities and light exercise our period underwear is ideal. For swimming we recommend our special Floena period swimwear and swimsuits, which are water-resistant and safe in the water. The swimwear provides reliable protection even in the water – no tampon or pad needed.

Rinse in cold water immediately after use until the water runs clear. Then machine wash at max. 30°C with mild, fragrance-free detergent. Air dry – no tumble dryer, bleach, or fabric softener, as these permanently reduce absorbency.

With proper care up to 2 years. Avoid fabric softener and the tumble dryer – both shorten lifespan and significantly reduce absorbency. With correct care the full absorbency is preserved long-term.

Yes, absolutely. Period underwear is a great option especially for young people getting their first period – easy to use, familiar like regular underwear, and no insertion into the body required. Our models come in many sizes, including smaller ones for younger people.

A menstrual cup is a small, flexible cup made from 100% medical-grade silicone. You insert it folded into the vagina, where it unfolds, forms a suction seal, and collects menstrual flow for up to 12 hours. Empty it, rinse it, and reuse it – no waste, no constant repurchasing. With a little practice the handling becomes simple.

A cup sits in the vaginal canal and forms a seal through suction. A disc sits higher, directly below the cervix, and holds without suction through the body’s anatomy. Discs can be worn during sex, cups generally cannot. Both collect flow internally and offer up to 12 hours of protection.

No – the vagina is a closed canal, a cup cannot get lost. If it’s hard to remove, it helps to relax, bear down gently, and release the suction seal by pinching the rim together. Taking a warm shower or squatting can also help. For questions: info@floena.com.

Yes – the menstrual cup is ideal for active people. During sport, yoga, swimming, and even sleep it sits securely and discreetly. Since it offers up to 12 hours of protection, you don’t need to think about changing during a workout.

Generally yes, but we recommend discussing this with your gynecologist beforehand. The suction seal must always be consciously released before removing the cup to minimize the risk of the IUD shifting. With correct use the risk is very low.

Between uses every 8–12 hours, rinse with water and mild fragrance-free soap. At the start and end of each cycle, sterilize by boiling in water for 5–10 minutes. On the go, the cup can be cleaned with a damp cloth until you have access to running water again.

With proper care up to 5 years. That means hundreds of disposable products saved and significantly lower costs over time. Replace your cup when you notice cracks, unusual odors, or a changed material structure.

Yes. Our textile products are OEKO-TEX certified and completely PFAS-free. Our cups and discs are made from 100% medical-grade silicone, are hypoallergenic, and free from BPA, latex, and phthalates. For known silicone sensitivities we recommend consulting a gynecologist beforehand.

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), also known as “forever chemicals”, are synthetic coatings used in some period underwear for leak-proofing. They barely break down in nature or the human body and are suspected to be harmful to health. All Floena textile products are completely PFAS-free – we use safe alternative technologies for leak protection.

For period underwear and swimwear there are no special restrictions. For menstrual cups and discs you should wait after giving birth until your gynecologist gives the all-clear – typically around 6–8 weeks after birth. For questions: info@floena.com.

Within the EU: 2–6 business days, standard shipping €4.99. Free shipping on orders over €90. Outside the EU: 5–14 business days, costs calculated at checkout. Once shipped, you’ll receive an email with a tracking link.

Orders are processed quickly. Write to us as soon as possible at info@floena.com with your order number. We do our best to make changes before shipping – after dispatch a cancellation is no longer possible.

Unused, unopened products in original packaging can be returned within 14 days for a full refund (EU statutory right of withdrawal). Opened hygiene products are excluded for hygiene reasons – for these our 90-Day Comfort Guarantee applies.

Our voluntary guarantee on top of your statutory rights. If your first opened pair of period underwear or your cup/disc doesn’t fit – wrong size, uncomfortable, or simply not right for you – we offer store credit, size exchange, or refund within 90 days.
